Our Programme
The Quarry
A 12-week startup incubation programme by Mwala Ventures. We take a small cohort of early-stage founders from raw idea through validation, build, and launch, culminating in a demo day showcase. The programme is free to participate in. We do not take equity.
Founders receive structured group workshops, hands-on support across strategy, marketing, and AI enablement, along with practical tools and resources to build with. Strong performers at demo day may be eligible for grant funding to support their next stage of growth.

The Journey
Programme Phases
01
Selection
Week 1
Applications open to early-stage founders across South Africa. We review the idea, the team, and the problem being solved. A small cohort is selected to keep the programme focused and hands-on.
02
Foundation
Weeks 2–4
Business model canvas development, market research, customer discovery, and value proposition refinement. Founders get clarity on who they are building for and why it matters.
03
Build
Weeks 5–8
Go-to-market planning, AI tools and workflow training, brand and digital presence buildout, basic financial modelling, and team structure guidance.
04
Prepare
Weeks 9–11
Pitch deck development, presentation coaching, growth roadmap creation, and demo day preparation. Founders refine their story and sharpen their ask.
05
Demo Day
Week 12
Cohort graduates present their ventures at a showcase event. Strong performers may be eligible for grant funding to support their next phase of growth.
