About the Role
Mwala Ventures is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to take full ownership of how the firm presents itself to the world. This is not a support role — it is a leadership position at the centre of everything we do.
You will report directly to the Managing Director and work across all four divisions — Advisory, Technology and Innovation, Property, and Human Capital — to ensure our brand, messaging, and campaigns are unified, compelling, and commercially effective.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will span brand strategy, content, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement. Day-to-day, you will:
- Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy aligned with business development targets across all divisions
- Own the brand identity — visual language, tone of voice, and messaging guidelines — and ensure consistency across every touchpoint
- Plan, write, and publish content for the company website, LinkedIn, email newsletters, and insight articles on the Mwala Ventures blog
- Manage paid and organic digital campaigns on LinkedIn, Google Ads, and Meta platforms — including budgets, A/B tests, and performance reporting
- Lead PR and media relations — draft press releases, coordinate interviews, and build journalist relationships across South African business media
- Produce client-facing materials such as capability decks, proposals, case studies, and event collateral
- Coordinate events and speaking engagements — from industry panels to internal team workshops and webinars
- Track and report on marketing KPIs using analytics tools (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, HubSpot or equivalent CRM)
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You are equally comfortable presenting a brand strategy to the leadership team and writing the LinkedIn post that brings it to life.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a marketing or communications role — agency or in-house
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a brand from strategy through execution
- Strong written English — you will be the primary voice of the firm
- Experience managing digital ad campaigns (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, or Meta Ads)
- Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (Google Analytics, social platform dashboards)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in professional services, management consulting, or B2B technology marketing
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Strapi, or similar)
- Basic design skills — Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid)
- Understanding of SEO principles and content marketing funnels

How You Will Be Measured
We believe in clear, measurable outcomes. In your first 12 months, success looks like:
- Brand Consistency Score — all external materials, social profiles, and website pages follow the updated brand guidelines you create
- Content Output — minimum 2 insight articles per month published on the company blog, plus weekly LinkedIn content
- Lead Generation — measurable increase in inbound enquiries attributed to marketing channels (target: 30% growth in qualified leads within 12 months)
- Digital Performance — website traffic, LinkedIn follower growth, and email open rates trending upward quarter-on-quarter
- Stakeholder Satisfaction — positive feedback from division heads on the quality and timeliness of marketing support
